According To Indian Railway (IRCTC) offers a new facility through which you can transfer your ticket to someone else. If you have a confirmed ticket and you are unable to travel, your ticket can be transferred to your family members viz., father, mother, brother, sister, son, daughter, husband or wife, etc.

Condition To Transfer Confirmed Railway Ticket

1) Under the guidelines of IRCTC, a person can transfer his/her confirmed ticket to another family member be it the father, mother, sibling, children or spouse. For transfer of ticket, an application must be submitted at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure of the train.

2) If the passengers belong to (National Cadet Corps) The officer who is the head of the group, makes a Written request at least 24 hours before the departure of the train, So that the reservation made in the name of any cadet be transferred to any other cadet. 

3) If the passenger belongs to members of a marriage party and any person deemed to be head of such party makes a written request before  48 hours of scheduled departure of the train then the reservation made in the name of any member of the marriage party can be transferred to any other person.

4) If the traveler is a government servant, traveling on duty, he can make a written  request  24 hours before the scheduled departure of the train.

5)If the Traveller is a student of a recognized educational institution and the head of the institution makes a written request before 48 of the scheduled departure of the train, then the reservation made in the name of any student can be transferred to any other student of the same institute.

How to transfer your confirmed train ticket:

Transfer of train ticket is possible for tickets booked by both online and offline modes. To transfer the ticket the person who wants to transfer the ticket must approach the station manager / chief reservation supervisor and submit the application for the purpose. He must also submit the photocopy of the proof of his relationship with the person to whom the ticket would be transferred like ration card, voter I-Card, bank passbook, etc.
